CNIC (Computerized National Identity Card)
The CNIC is the primary national identification document for Pakistani citizens aged 18 and above. Issued by NADRA (National Database & Registration Authority), it serves as proof of citizenship and is required for most government services.
Eligibility
Pakistani citizens aged 18 years or above. Those under 18 can get a Child Registration Certificate (B-Form) instead.
Required Documents
- • Original or certified copy of Birth Certificate / B-Form
- • Original or certified copy of School Certificate (for date of birth verification)
- • Two passport-sized photographs (4x6 cm)
- • Original or certified copy of parents' CNICs (for first-time applicants)
- • Residence proof (utility bill, rental agreement, or property ownership document)

- • New CNIC: Rs. 500
- • CNIC Renewal: Rs. 400
- • Replacement: Rs. 600
- • Online application: Rs. 600
Application Steps
- • Visit your nearest NADRA office or apply online
- • Fill out the CNIC application form (Form A)
- • Submit required documents and photographs
- • Pay the applicable fee
- • Receive a receipt with your reference number
- • Wait for processing (usually 7-14 days)
- • Collect your CNIC from the office or receive it by courier
